Netherlands Provides €400 Million Maritime Security Package to Ukraine

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has announced a new defense aid package from the Netherlands valued at €400 million, aimed at bolstering the country’s maritime security amid its ongoing war with Russia. The package includes more than 100 high-speed vessels and over 50 naval drones, significantly enhancing Ukraine’s coastal defense and operational capabilities.

"The Netherlands is providing a €400 million package for maritime security, including 100+ fast vessels and 50+ sea drones. We are grateful to our Dutch partners for their steadfast support," the ministry stated on Platform X. The move marks a further deepening of defense cooperation between Kyiv and The Hague.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry expressed its gratitude for the Netherlands’ continued support, emphasizing solidarity in an official statement: "We are stronger together!"

In a recent statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the attacks on bridges in Russia’s Bryansk and Kursk regions as acts of terrorism, claiming they were intended to sabotage ongoing efforts toward peace negotiations.

"They’re calling for a summit," Putin said in a recorded message shared on Platform X. "But how can such meetings take place under these circumstances? What is there to discuss? How can we negotiate with those who use terror as a tactic?"

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a temporary ceasefire ahead of a potential leaders’ summit. "If, at this meeting, we see that the dialogue can continue, the ceasefire will be extended," Zelensky stated on Wednesday.
