Alarm at the Polish border

During the night from Sunday to Monday, Russia once again struck throughout Ukraine, including areas bordering Poland. "This is the second consecutive very busy night for the entire air defence system in Poland," stated Poland's Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

New Russian tactics

Russia increased its attacks on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of ballistic missiles. If it follows through on its promises to ramp up production, it could launch up to a thousand drones annually toward Ukraine. "The Economist" warns that such actions might overwhelm Ukrainian air defences. The new Shahed drones that Russia received from Iran are more challenging to intercept.

Trump on the massive attack on Ukraine

Donald Trump spoke out following Russia's recent attacks on Ukraine. The former US President stated that "he doesn't like it" and "doesn't know what happened to Putin." During the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russia carried out one of the largest attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion, resulting in 12 deaths, including three children.

Trump changes his mind

Donald Trump decided to halt the imposition of 50% tariffs on goods from the EU after a conversation with Ursula von der Leyen. Trade negotiations are expected to commence soon. Trump announced his decision after stating that talks with the EU were "going nowhere."

German politician and Nord Stream 2

A German CDU politician, Michael Kretschmer, calls for resuming dialogue with Russia regarding Nord Stream 2. He argues that it is an opportunity to lower energy costs. However, Chancellor Friedrich Merz maintains a veto against the pipeline's launch.

Massive drug seizure in Nigeria

In Nigeria, police seized drugs worth approximately 5.4 million CAD. The operation took place in ports in Rivers and Lagos states, where millions of opioid tablets were confiscated.
