The Ukrainian Armed Forces are receiving ammunition as part of a large contract valued at 23 billion hryvnias, roughly CAD 768 million. The first deliveries have already reached the units on the front line. This information was provided by Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Service of Ukraine, which oversees this purchase.

Demchenko emphasized that the deliveries include a wide range of ammunition needed to support defensive and offensive operations. "This is equipment that is urgently needed on the front lines to stop the enemy and maintain a balance of power. We're talking about a diverse range of ammunition, not just small arms but also more complex types used in modern combat," he explained.

Payments for the contract were finalized at the end of December 2024, and deliveries are expected to continue throughout 2025. Nevertheless, as Demchenko noted, shipments have already begun and are proceeding without delay.

Photos published by Ukrainians show that 152 mm caliber shells used by howitzers like the 2S19 Msta-S or D-20 have reached the front in Ukraine. These are popular weapons used by both sides of the conflict.

Additionally, the shells produced by the Poles are 122 mm caliber ammunition. This is suitable for 2S1 Gvozdika howitzers and BM-21 Grad self-propelled guns. Similar to the 152 mm caliber ammunition, these shells are used in weapons employed by both Russians and Ukrainians.
