Putin warns Russian entrepreneurs: Don't expect full trade revival despite possible sanctions relief
Before his phone conversation with Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin addressed Russian entrepreneurs. He warned them not to expect a complete restoration of free trade and capital flow, even if sanctions against Russia are eased.
Much information shared by Russian media and government representatives is likely untrue. Such reports may be part of an information war from the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin stated that approximately 28,595 sanctions have been imposed against Russian companies and individuals.
Putin described sanctions as a long-term, strategic tool of pressure rather than a temporary or selective measure. He asserted that, regardless of global circumstances or the international order, Russia's competitors would continuously attempt to obstruct its progress and weaken its economic and technological potential. Russian media reported his remarks on Tuesday during the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs congress.
"The train has left." Putin talks about the return of Western companies
The Russian leader simultaneously noted that some Western companies want to return to the Russian market. As he conveyed, the Russian government has been tasked with developing a procedure enabling the return of foreign businesses with a guarantee of fair operation.
However, Putin stated that Western companies that have already been replaced by Russian entrepreneurs have lost their opportunity to return.
