Putin warns Russian entrepreneurs: Sanctions are here to stay
Before his phone conversation with Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin addressed Russian entrepreneurs. He warned them not to expect a complete restoration of free trade and capital flow, even if the sanctions against Russia are eased.
Many of the reports provided by Russian media and representatives of the authorities are likely not true. Such reports may be an element of an information war by the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin stated that 28,595 sanctions have been imposed against Russian companies and individuals.
Putin described sanctions as a long-term, strategic tool of pressure rather than a temporary or selective measure. He asserted that, regardless of global circumstances or the international order, Russia's competitors would persist in limiting its progress and undermining its economic and technological potential. Russian media reported his remarks on Tuesday during the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
"The train has left the station". Putin talks about the return of Western companies
The Russian leader simultaneously noted that some Western companies want to return to the Russian market. In response, as he conveyed, the Russian government has been tasked with developing a procedure to enable the return of foreign enterprises with a guarantee of fair business conduct.
However, Putin stated that Western companies that have already been replaced by Russian entrepreneurs have missed their chance to return.
