During a meeting with government members, Vladimir Putin stated that Russian troops are focusing on establishing a buffer zone along the border with Ukraine. He emphasized that these actions are targeted at suppressing focal points of enemy resistance, writes the Russian daily "Kommersant".

The President of Russia noted that in addition to military actions, efforts are also being made to clear mines from the border areas, which were sites of intense fighting.

This particularly pertains to the Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod regions. Putin also commissioned the development of a program to rebuild these regions.

" Kommersant " asserts that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to stabilize the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

The Russian authorities emphasize that the buffer zone is intended to provide greater security and protection against threats from Ukraine.
