Russia and USA engage in critical talks amid ongoing conflict
Russia and the United States still have many aspects to agree upon regarding the resolution of the situation in Ukraine, stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Referring to the ongoing talks in Riyadh, he added that Russia and the United States desire to "eliminate the root causes of the crisis."
Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is part of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
Russian negotiators in Riyadh can contact Moscow if necessary, and work is ongoing, declared the spokesman for the Russian leader. Representatives of Russia and the United States will conduct further talks in the capital of Saudi Arabia, which began after 2 AM Eastern Time.
Peskov confirmed that the talks are to address, among other things, the security of navigation in the Black Sea.
According to Peskov, Russia and the United States "express the willingness to follow the path of resolving the Ukrainian crisis." Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump informed that the United States, Ukraine, and Russia have reached preliminary agreements regarding the situation's resolution, which he described as an "outline of an agreement."
Apparently, this is about the willingness and readiness of the countries to follow the path of peaceful resolution – in this regard, there is indeed a mutual understanding. Overall, of course, there are still very, very many different aspects related to resolving the Ukrainian crisis that need further development, said Peskov to journalists, responding to a question on whether Russia and the USA have actually agreed on the general parameters of an agreement on Ukraine, or if Trump's assessment is overly optimistic.
Peskov cynically stated that Russians allegedly adhere to the agreement to cease attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities. He did not mention that just last week, Russia killed several and injured dozens in massive attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Massive attacks on Ukrainian cities
Russians attacked residential districts of the city of Kropyvnytskyi in central Ukraine with drones. "Simply hell" - reads one of the Telegram channels. On March 20, Ukrainians reported a massive Russian attack on Odesa. On March 23, in another night attack on Ukraine, Russia used 147 drones. Of these, 97 were successfully shot down, as reported by Ukrainian air forces. Unfortunately, drone debris falls on homes and streets, causing death and destruction. In Kyiv, three people died, including a five-year-old child, and another 10 were injured.
Talks between Russia and the USA began on Monday in Riyadh. The day before, the American delegation met with Ukrainians.
The Russian Federation was represented at the meeting by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Grigory Karasin, and the advisor to the director of the FSB, Sergey Beseda.
