Russia open for dialogue on US‑Ukraine talks in Jeddah

- Russia is ready to discuss the outcomes of the US and Ukraine negotiations in Jeddah with the American side. Contacts between Moscow and Washington could take place as early as March 13, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Thursday. The American delegation has already arrived in the Russian capital.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin's spokesman, commented on the matter but did not want to "look ahead." "We need to receive this information first. We have also contacts scheduled with the Americans in the next few days, in the course of which we expect to receive full information," he emphasized.

US-Ukraine talks

Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that "a group of US representatives is heading to Moscow right now." "We hope to achieve a ceasefire," Trump said in the Oval Office, adding that "now everything depends on Russia."

In response to the American president's words, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, "We do not rule out contacts with US representatives within the next few days," she emphasized.
