Ukrainian drones over Russia

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, Russian air defense destroyed or intercepted 71 Ukrainian drones. The attack covered six regions, including the city of Shuya in the Ivanovo region. It was from there that Russian forces earlier struck Sumy in Ukraine, with tragic consequences.

The city of Shuya, located about 1,150 kilometres from the border with Ukraine, became a target of the Ukrainian drone attack. The authorities of the Ivanovo region reported that there were no casualties or material losses there. Shuya hosts a Russian missile brigade, which, according to Ukrainian authorities, is responsible for the attack on Sumy.

As a result of the earlier attack from Shuya on Sumy, at least 35 people died. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that most drones, as many as 49, were shot down over the Kursk region. The remaining drones were neutralized over the Oryol, Ryazan, Bryansk, Vladimir, and Tula regions.

Recordings of the attack

Videos have appeared on Russian Telegram showing the moment of the attack on the base in Shuya. They show at least one fire on the base premises. The video materials attracted the attention of both Russian and Ukrainian media.

The situation on the Russia-Ukraine line remains tense. Drone attacks and military responses could lead to a further escalation of the conflict. Both sides accuse each other of provocations, which complicates reaching an agreement.
