Effects of the drone attack

The drone attacks on Kyiv led to fires breaking out in several parts of the city. Drone debris fell in the Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.

In the Obolonskyi district, a fire engulfed a car and the upper floors of a residential building. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a fire consumed three private homes.

Impact on individuals

Two children, aged 14 and 17, were injured in the attack. This information was confirmed by Timor Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Additionally, in the Sviatoshynskyi district, there was a call for medical assistance, and medics treated a victim on site.

The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, provided information on the rescue and security measures taken in response to the attack. City authorities are monitoring the situation and working with relevant services to ensure the safety of residents.

Ceasefire issues

The media highlights that despite the expressed intention to reach a ceasefire, Russian forces continue to attack Ukrainian cities and villages, resulting in civilian casualties. In the Donetsk region, two people were killed on Saturday. In Kherson, one person was killed and two were injured.

Reuters reports that on Monday, Russia announced a three-day ceasefire from May 8 to 10. Kyiv rejected this proposal, suggesting a 30-day halt in hostilities as a starting point for further negotiations. Both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilian areas in the conflict that began on February 24, 2022, with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine - reports Reuters.
