During the night (April 23 to 24), the Russians shelled Kyiv and Kharkiv. They used rockets, ballistic missiles, and drones in the attack. At least nine people died during the shelling. Ukrainian services report that 70 people were injured, but this number may be much higher.

Ukrainian public television "Suspilne" conducted an interview with a woman whose mother died in the Russian attack. The woman is shocked by what happened in Kyiv. She emphasizes that the 85-year-old victim of the Russian drone "wanted to continue living".

This is my mother. This year, she would have turned 85. Although she was already old, she did not intend to die yet - says the woman, who is sitting next to the body of her murdered mother during the interview.

The woman says that she believes the actions of the Russians are "a crime against her country, against all of Ukraine." She points out that the Russian military "must have specifically targeted the house where her mother lived."

It's hard for me to say anything. I hate Russia and its president. We all hate him - says the emotional woman, adding that "too many children and elderly people have died in this war to remain indifferent to it."

Ukrainian television reports that there were 15 people in the building where Olena Luniwna died. For now, rescuers confirm that they have found six people. Access to the others is difficult, and the rescue operation is ongoing. It is not known whether the victims are still alive.
