Russian propaganda continues to surprise, crossing new boundaries of absurdity. For International Women's Day, the regime decided to honour the mothers of fallen soldiers in a highly unexpected way.

Gifts for the mothers of fallen soldiers

As part of the "Flowers for the Mothers of Heroes" campaign, the mothers of soldiers who died in the war received bouquets of flowers, as well as meat grinders and mini ovens.

The campaign was carried out across the country. On the social media of the United Russia party, photos from the city of Polarnyye Zory in the Murmansk region were posted, where the gifts were handed out to women by the city's mayor and party representatives.

The photos spread across social media, and netizens did not hold back in their criticism, which outraged the party authorities. "For us, the most important thing is that the women themselves are happy with the practical gift, which will be useful in the household, especially since it was chosen according to their wishes and needs," wrote party representatives on VKontakte, calling the negative comments a "provocation."

This is not the first time fallen soldiers' families have received gifts. Previously, the media reported that the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, gave the families of deceased servicemen bags of potatoes and onions, as well as bottles of oil.
