"I actually think in a couple of weeks we're going to get to it. So, lots of good things. Now it's for the technical teams to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, and everybody is committed to that process," said Steven Witkoff on Bloomberg TV.

Additionally, Donald Trump's special advisor described the relationship between Moscow and Washington as "critically important."

Witkoff noted that the process leading to the truce had already begun during the meeting in Saudi Arabia and was recently continued during talks in Moscow. The Trump-Putin conversation was a consequence of these meetings.

Trump's advisor stated that a ceasefire in Ukraine could lead to the gradual lifting of sanctions on Russia. He emphasized that sanctions would be eased following an agreement on halting hostilities.

"Epic conversation"

Witkoff noted that while some details still need to be finalized, the process will begin on Sunday in Jeddah and lead toward a complete ceasefire. He described the day's discussion as significant and highlighted the key elements required to achieve this goal.

In a discussion with Bloomberg TV, he described the leaders' conversation as remarkable, emphasizing that they focused on ways to save lives and end the violence. He added that listening to the discussion made him proud to be an American.
