Trump's plea to Putin: A chance for peace in troubled times
- If they lay down their arms and surrender, they will be guaranteed life and dignified treatment - declared Vladimir Putin in reference to Donald Trump's appeal.
"I have strongly requested to President Putin that their lives be spared. This would be a horrible massacre, one not seen since World War II," - Trump conveyed on Friday in a post published on Truth Social.
In his post, Trump also mentioned discussions with his special advisor on Middle Eastern affairs, Steve Witkoff, who spoke with Putin on Thursday in Moscow. The former American president called the meeting "very good and productive."
"There is a very good chance ... horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end," - emphasized Trump.
