During a meeting with journalists on April 17 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the issue of Ukraine's gas transmission system. According to "Pravda," the President of Ukraine emphasized that this topic was not raised in the context of the mineral resources agreement with the USA.

"We did not talk about the pipeline. Although, if we are talking about this asset – we can discuss it. But certainly not about the Russians pumping their gas and profiting from the war. We have said many times: there is other gas, other countries – that's fine," said Zelensky.

Zelensky explained that Ukraine does not consider resuming gas transit, and the United States is not pressing for such a step. The President added that talks might concern other gas sources and other countries.

Earlier, the Reuters agency reported that the USA was considering control over the pipeline connecting Russia to Europe through Ukraine.

In the context of the mineral resources agreement, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine does not intend to support Russian energy interests. The President noted that discussions with the USA concern other aspects of cooperation, not gas transmission. "Pravda" reports that Ukraine is open to dialogue about other energy possibilities.
