Ukraine intercepts 73 drones amid deadly Russian attacks

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Ukrainian air defences shot down 73 out of 119 Russian drones that attacked Ukraine.

The Ukrainian air defence successfully neutralized 73 out of 119 drones that Russian forces deployed on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

"The enemy attacked with 119 Shahed strike drones and various types of decoy drones from the directions of Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, Briansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation, and (Cape) Chauda in Russian-occupied Crimea," reported the Air Force on Telegram.

Effects of the attacks in Kherson and Donetsk regions

As a result of the Russian attacks in the Kherson and Donetsk regions, four people were killed and 29 were injured.

Roman Mroczko, head of the Kherson military administration, stated that due to the nighttime attacks on the Kherson region, two people were killed and six were injured.

In the Donetsk region, the situation was equally dire. The head of the regional authorities, Vadym Filashkin, reported that the Russian Federation's aggression resulted in two civilian deaths and 23 injuries.

Shooting down drones and defensive actions

In 12 regions of Ukraine, the downing of 73 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed type and others was confirmed. Additionally, 37 Russian drones were neutralized using electronic warfare measures. The attacks impacted the regions of the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia.
