The President of Ukraine expressed that such heartfelt gestures of gratitude are significant, as they reaffirm that the country is not facing its struggles alone.

He stressed that this sentiment is deeply felt and holds great significance, serving as a powerful message for both the Ukrainian people and those fighting in Ukraine.

Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen addressed the situation, emphasizing that Ukraine belongs to the European family. She described it as a pivotal moment, highlighting the direct threat Europe faces. She underscored the need to strive for a lasting and just peace, rejecting the notion of peace achieved through force.

She emphasized the need for self-defense and stressed the importance of securing a strong position for Ukraine.

European state leaders will approve new defence funding forms at Thursday's Brussels summit. This is a nod to the USA and an expression of Europe's readiness to become independent of the USA as a guarantor of the continent's security. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will join the leaders of the "27".
