A clip of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's speech to journalists was published online, unexpectedly interrupted by a phone call that the Ukrainian president chose to answer.
"Sorry Emmanuel"
As it became clear shortly after, on the other end of the call was the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. Zelenskyy, after answering, said, "Sorry Emmanuel... I just have a conversation with some journalists. Can I ring you back in some minutes, 15-20 minutes? Please, thank you, Emmanuel."
The recording also shows Zelenskyy's statement immediately after the brief conversation. He mentioned that he had just spoken with President Macron. He added that the two leaders have phone conversations roughly once a day.
Emmanuel Macron spoke with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, among other things, just after the disagreement that took place in the White House at the end of February.
During the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, a sudden dispute arose between the leaders. The previously planned signing of the bilateral American-Ukrainian mineral agreement was postponed, and Zelenskyy left the White House. Shortly afterwards, the Élysée Palace announced that President Emmanuel Macron had spoken with the Ukrainian leader.
On Monday of this week, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported a phone conversation with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. They were to discuss, among other things, the conversation planned for Tuesday between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
