Oatmeal with raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries is a favourite forest breakfast. However, it’s not just about the flavouring additions. During such a meal, you can also take care of your health. Just add some unassuming seeds to the oatmeal.

Not impressed with the taste of oatmeal flakes? Indeed, they are a bit bland on their own, which is why choosing the right additions is so important. It's worth choosing those that not only improve the taste but also enhance the beneficial effects of this dish. How about some black cumin seeds?

what does black cumin contain?

These humble, black seeds are making headlines now. They can be found in bread, cheeses, and salads. No wonder black cumin contains vitamins (A, E, F, and B group) and minerals (zinc, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, and selenium). Thanks to these components:

  • it has antibacterial and antiviral effects,
  • supports the immune system and helps fight infections,
  • lowers bad cholesterol and blood sugar levels,
  • supports digestion,
  • limits the growth of Candida Albicans yeast (which causes digestive problems when immunity is low) and detoxifies the body,
  • supports liver function,
  • relieves acne symptoms.

Sweet and savoury

There are many reasons to include black cumin in your meals. The recommended amount is up to 3 teaspoons per day. Adding it to oatmeal is an excellent idea, especially since it goes well with both sweet and savoury versions of this dish. Sweet versions are easier to combine, as you only need to add some fruit. Savoury oatmeal is less popular. You can add some seasonal vegetables to it.
