Iran fears a retaliatory attack by Israel. Flights from all airports in the country—from Sunday evening to Monday morning—have been cancelled.

Commentators associate Tehran's decision with concerns about Israeli retaliation for the Iranian missile attack.

Reuters reported that a spokesman for the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority stated that the flights were cancelled due to operational restrictions but did not give specific reasons.

Iranian authorities had earlier announced flight restrictions on Tuesday. On that day, nearly 200 ballistic missiles were launched from Iran towards Israel. Most of them were intercepted.

Tehran stated that the attack was retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Revolutionary Guard General Abbas Nilforushan. Iran threatened "crushing attacks" in case of an armed response from Israel. However, the Jewish state's authorities have already announced retaliation.
