Italian brand unleashes the Katla: A 2,127 HP hypercar revelation

The new Italian brand, Giamaro Automobili, has entered the automotive scene, unveiling the impressive hypercar, the Katla. Equipped with a 7-litre V12 engine featuring four turbochargers, the Katla delivers up to 2,127 HP.

The Giamaro Katla is a hypercar focused on road performance. Under the bonnet lies a completely redesigned V12 engine, available in two power variants: 1,647 HP with 1,556 Nm of torque, and an extraordinary 2,127 HP with 2,008 Nm of torque. These specifications surpass most competitors in the hypercar segment.

The engine is paired with a 7-speed manual gearbox that transmits power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. This is a bold choice given the vehicle's immense power. The company is also developing an 11-speed dual-clutch gearbox, expected to enhance performance even further.

The design of the Katla combines aggression and aerodynamics. Key features include a ventilated bonnet, "floating" LED daytime running lights, and gullwing-style doors that open upwards. The sleek body lines efficiently direct airflow to the centrally located engine, while the rear is adorned with C-shaped LED lights and a large diffuser.

The car rides on 20- and 21-inch wheels, fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres. Its braking system consists of robust discs with a diameter of approximately 17 inches and 10- and 4-piston calipers on both axles. An active rear spoiler increases aerodynamic downforce and also functions as an air brake.

The Katla's dimensions include a length of about 16 feet and a wheelbase of approximately 9 feet, making it slightly larger than a Chevrolet Corvette. The interior mimics an aircraft cockpit, employing aluminium, carbon fibre, and exclusive fabrics. The driver can access a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system directed towards them. The flattened steering wheel and minimal number of buttons are also noteworthy.

Giamaro Automobili is also developing a second model named the Albor. This robust hypercar, inspired by rallying and based on the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, will feature raised suspension, massive carbon fibre wheel arches, and unique body and lighting elements. The name Albor derives from the Albor Tholus volcano on Mars, and the vehicle will utilise the same monocoque and engine as the Katla.

Both models are set to debut soon. Although details regarding pricing and availability remain undisclosed, one thing is certain – Giamaro Automobili intends to make a significant mark in the hypercar segment.
