Liverpool parade horror: Car plows into crowd, 27 injured

During the Liverpool FC fan parade, a tragic accident occurred when a car drove into the crowd. A child and an adult were seriously injured, and a total of 27 people were taken to hospital. A special statement on this matter was issued by British politician Ian Byrne.

During the grand celebration for the Liverpool FC football club's victory in the Premier League, a dramatic accident took place. A car drove into the crowd gathered on the city streets, injuring many people. Among the injured were four children.

27 people were transported to hospital, including two individuals, one of whom was a child, who sustained serious injuries. Police reported that a 53-year-old man, suspected of driving the vehicle, has been arrested. The police ruled out terrorism as a motive for the incident.

Ian Byrne, a Labour Party MP, expressed his "deep concern" and extended his condolences to all those affected.

"Absolutely heartbroken by the scenes in town, after what should have been the best of days. My love and thoughts are with all affected," he wrote on platform X.

Manchester United, a historic rival of Liverpool FC, also expressed solidarity with the city and the club.

Emergency services were working at the scene, quickly commencing rescue operations. Nick Searle, the fire chief, reported that four people, including a child, were trapped under the vehicle and were freed by firefighters.

Politician Liam Robinson appealed to residents not to share recordings of the accident on social media and to report any information about the event to the police.

Liverpool FC expressed their support for the victims and their families, emphasizing that they are thinking of everyone affected by this tragic event.

"The scenes in Liverpool are appalling – my thoughts are with all those injured or affected. I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident. I’m being kept updated on developments and ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate," said the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer.
