Macron expressed Europe's readiness to take action should Russia fail to respond. During a press conference in Singapore, the French president highlighted that he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed his impatience on the matter.

Recognition of the Palestinian state

He added that Europe must take a firmer stance against Israel if the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip does not improve.
Earlier, on 10 May, Macron, along with other European leaders, visited Kyiv, where they threatened Moscow with massive sanctions in case of no ceasefire. These announcements have not yet been implemented, which highlights the importance of current talks and decisions.
