Late on Thursday evening in Kharkiv, a drone hit a residential building, causing a massive fire, informed Ihor Terekhov, the city's mayor. Initially, it was reported that 12 people were injured and two were killed. On Friday morning, Terekhov stated that four people were killed, and 35 were injured. New Voice of Ukraine highlighted that among the injured were two children.

Attacks on other regions of Ukraine

Not only Kharkiv suffered from the night attacks. In the city of Dnipro in central-eastern Ukraine, three people were injured as a result of a drone attack. In the Kyiv region, two civilians were injured by drone fragments, and in Zaporizhzhia, one person was injured.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, that night Russia sent 78 drones over Ukraine. They managed to shoot down 42 of them due to the efforts of rocket forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. Communication was lost with 22 decoy drones.

Ukraine's response

Russian media reported that Ukrainians also carried out drone attacks. The TASS agency reported on temporary restrictions at Moscow's Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports. At least one drone allegedly attacked Moscow and was reportedly shot down by air defence.

The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that 107 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed overnight.

Much of the information conveyed by Russian media and government representatives is likely not true. Such reports may be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.
