Tragic bus crashes in Mexico leave 32 dead, dozens injured

Dramatic reports from Mexico. According to local authorities, at least 32 people have died and dozens have been injured in two separate bus accidents.

In the state of Durango, located in the north of the country, 14 people lost their lives when a bus collided with a lorry. The bus had come from McAllen in the American state of Texas, where many Mexican nationals are employed. Approximately 10 people were injured in this collision.

The authorities' statement did not specify the cause of the accident.

Also on Monday, a bus overturned on the motorway in the mountainous state of Oaxaca in the south of Mexico. Eighteen people died and 30 were injured, as reported by the governor of the state of Oaxaca, Salomon Jara Cruz, on the platform X.

Tragedy in Mexico: Dozens dead

According to the media, the overturned bus was carrying supporters of Mexico's ruling National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party. They were returning from the capital after attending a rally led by President Claudia Sheinbaum on Sunday.

The authorities of Oaxaca have launched an investigation to determine the causes of this tragedy.

Every year, around 15,000 people lose their lives on Mexican roads.
