Trump criticises Ukrainian aid, urges European support shift
Donald Trump, referring to the support given to Ukraine, stated that the US should get a dollar back for every dollar spent. The American leader was alluding to an agreement with Kyiv. Ultimately, Trump did not rule it out, although he set conditions.
- I just think he should be more appreciative, because this country has stuck with them through thick and thin - Trump stated.
"I'm not knocking Europe, I'm saying that just they were a lot smarter than Joe Biden, because Joe Biden didn't have a clue," he said. "He just gave money hand over a fist, and they should have been able to equalise with us," he added.
"We’re going to make deals with everybody to get this war, including Europe and European nations," he stated. "Most of them are friends of mine, the heads of state, the heads of the various countries. … Four prime ministers and five presidents called me over the last two days, and they want to work it out," he added.
Trump, however, simultaneously stated that Europe should have given more than USA to finance Ukraine.
Trump responds to Zelensky
Trump referred again to a statement by President Zelensky, who said that the end of the war is "very, very far away" - He better not be right. That's all I'm saying. I would like the war to end quickly - he emphasised.
Trump also confirmed that tariffs on Canada and Mexico will take effect
