In his speech to about a thousand cadets, Trump emphasised that they are the first graduates who will serve in the nation's "golden age." The President took credit for rebuilding the military, claiming it is now "better than ever before."

Trump criticised his predecessors for subjecting the armed forces to "social projects and political issues," which he claimed led to weakened border defence and depleted arsenals. The President assured that those times are over, and the U.S. military is now based on merit.
