Trump's lowest approval since return, poll reveals
Only 42% of respondents positively evaluate Donald Trump's presidency, according to a new poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos. The agency reports that this is the lowest approval rating since his return to the White House.
On 21st April, another social survey was published. The mood of Americans was assessed over six days. This time, the Reuters/Ipsos survey was conducted with 4,306 participants.
42% of respondents positively evaluated Trump's performance as president, according to the Reuters agency. At the same time, three weeks earlier the percentage was 43%, and a few hours after the inauguration, it was 47%. The margin of error is approximately 2 percentage points.
The authors of the survey noted that Donald Trump still has higher ratings than his predecessor Joe Biden. However, the results indicate that many Americans disagree with his actions. Among other things, he is criticised for punishing universities and taking over the Kennedy Center. 66% believe Trump should not control major cultural institutions.
More than 83% of those surveyed stated that the president must comply with federal court rulings, even if he dislikes them. In this area, even Republican supporters are almost unanimous—73% of Donald Trump's voters responded this way.
Regarding immigration, 45% of those surveyed by Reuters/Ipsos praised Donald Trump's actions, while 46% did not support them. About 59% of respondents believe that the United States is losing credibility on the international stage.
75% of survey participants also stated that the current president should not seek a third term if it were possible. At the same time, 53% of Republican voters share this view.
