On Friday, Donald Trump received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. As previously announced by the American leader and confirmed by the Ukrainian president, the goal was to sign an agreement on mineral extraction.
However, the Ukrainian side repeatedly emphasised that it would only sign if it received security guarantees from the American side.
In the Oval Office, there was a clash between the politicians when the President of Ukraine talked about the necessity of providing Ukraine with security guarantees and actively involving Kyiv in the negotiation process.

"Europe collectively will try to pick up the pieces, but it looks like Trump has made up his mind to sell out Ukraine," Bloomberg quotes one of the officials who asked to remain anonymous.
