UK braces for 'Beast from Europe' storms in early May
The United Kingdom is preparing for a significant change in the weather. At the beginning of May, the "Beast from Europe" is set to bring heavy rainfall and storms.
What do you need to know?
- At the beginning of May, the United Kingdom will be affected by the "Beast from the East," which is expected to bring a wave of storms and rainfall.
- No region of the country will be spared from the rainy weather.
- Temperatures will drop to as low as 6.1°C.
The United Kingdom had been expecting a mild end to April and start to May. While the days may begin with fog, temperatures are forecast to reach a warm 68 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the subsequent weeks will not be as pleasant.
The UK Meteorological Office warns that the weather in May will be far from stable. "A typical mixture of drier and settled periods, and periods of wetter and more unsettled conditions is likely," they stated.
It will start on 8 May
The "Beast from Europe" is expected to reach the United Kingdom during the night of 7 to 8 May, bringing heavy rainfall and storms. It will begin in southern England and some parts of Scotland, then the storms will spread across the entire country.
Temperatures will fall on 8 May, ranging from 6 to 15 degrees Celsius.
"Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, with a slightly increased chance of warm or hot spells," say UK meteorologists.
