Ukraine and US talks advance as EU summit looms in Brussels

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on preparations for an extraordinary European Union summit in Brussels. In his daily video address, he emphasized that Ukraine expects positive results from talks with the US in the coming week.
Progress in relations with the US
Zelensky noted that his team is working with President Joe Biden's administration to organise the meeting.
The Ukrainian president stated, "There is positive movement. We hope for the first results next week."
Increase in arms production
During his speech, Zelensky announced that Ukraine plans to increase arms production, including drones, to support actions on the front line.
He emphasized that domestic production remains a key priority and mentioned that agreements are being prepared to expand Ukraine's arms manufacturing.
Meeting with the commander of the Armed Forces
The President of Ukraine met with General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Chief Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who provided him with current information from the front and details of the Kursk operation being conducted in the Russian Kursk region.
Zelensky assured that the brigades in the Kursk region have all necessary resources and expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their resilience.
An extraordinary European Union summit dedicated to European defence and support for Ukraine is scheduled for Thursday in Brussels. President Zelensky will join EU leaders who will discuss, among other things, the plan to rearm Europe. Prime Minister Donald Tusk will represent Poland at the summit.
