The Ukrainian Air Force has successfully shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter jet over Russian territory in the Kursk region.

The Ukrainian Air Force has successfully downed a Russian Su-35 fighter jet during an operation over Russian territory in the Kursk region. The strike was confirmed by both Ukraine’s General Staff and its Air Force.

"This morning, on June 7, 2025, as a result of a successful Air Force operation in the Kursk direction, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet was shot down," announced Ukrainian military officials on Telegram.

The operation was carried out on June 7, 2025, as part of the Ukrainian armed forces’ ongoing response to Russian offensive. While specific details remain classified, the Ukrainian Air Force released drone footage capturing the burning wreckage of the downed aircraft.

In a statement from the Ukrainian General Staff, it was reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost a total of 413 aircraft and 338 helicopters.

Operation "Spiderweb"

On June 1, Ukrainian special services conducted an attack on Russian strategic aviation bases. The operation, codenamed "Spiderweb," was in the making for over a year and a half and was conducted under the direct supervision of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to U.S. officials, Ukraine’s drone attack on Russian bombers led to the destruction of 10 aircraft and damaged approximately 20 more.
