"Nadiia in the Luhansk region is liberated! (...) The total area recovered from enemy hands is about one square mile" was stated in a communication from the Ukrainian formation. The operation lasted 30 hours and was successful, even though the Russians defended this area for two months, losing two mechanised regiments.
Why is Nadiia strategically important?
The town of Nadiia, located near the border with the Kharkiv region, was a key strategic point for Russian forces.
"The capture of the town of Nadiia, located near the border with the Kharkiv region, cost the enemy two months of efforts and two destroyed mechanised regiments - the 752nd and 254th from the 20th Army of the Armed Forces of Russia" noted Colonel Andriy Biletsky, commander of the 3rd Corps. Recovering this town is a significant step towards restoring control over the entire Luhansk region.

Regaining Nadiia is not only a symbolic victory but also a strategic success that may influence the further course of the conflict. The Luhansk region was one of the last areas of Ukraine under full Russian control, aside from the annexed Crimea.
