Venice launches campaign to protect tourists from scams and thefts

The main warning on the leaflets concerns the "three cups" game. This popular scam is often encountered around the train station and other places along the Grand Canal, which tourists from all over the world frequently visit. Scammers propose the game to lure tourists with the prospect of an easy win.

"Those who get drawn into it can lose money", warns the specially prepared leaflet.

The leaflets also include a QR code linking to a video explaining how the scam works.
