Roasted chicken in a bag with vegetables is a meal that practically makes itself. Toss everything into the package, season well, and bake. It’s tasty, simple, and nutritious, so it’s no wonder this meal has fans.

Everyone waits for dinner, even though not everyone wants to stand by the stove and prepare it. That’s when one-pot dishes and oven meals come in handy. You just throw everything together, set the appropriate power, and wait. The family meal then practically makes itself, and the aroma from the oven quickly makes your stomach growl.

If you want to discover new flavours and prepare juicy, aromatic chicken, you definitely need to try the baking in a bag method. The baking bag creates a sealed environment that traps moisture inside the meat, ensuring that the chicken remains juicy and tender.

All the aroma of the spices stays inside the bag. This benefits the meat and vegetables inside. You don’t have to worry about the meat sticking to the pan or stirring frequently. Just place the chicken in the bag and put it in the oven.

Ingredients:

  • 7 chicken thighs or drumsticks,
  • favourite meat seasoning,
  • salt,
  • fresh thyme sprigs,
  • 1 broccoli,
  • 2 carrots,
  • vegetable oil.

Preparation:

  1. Transfer the meat to a bowl and drizzle a bit of oil over it. Add a mix of spices or your own blend. Sweet and spicy paprika, Herbes de Provence, or a bit of rosemary will work well here.
  2. Mix thoroughly to ensure the spices cover the entire surface of the thighs, and let the meat sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  3. Peel the carrots and slice them into thick pieces, divide the broccoli into florets.
  4. Throw the meat and vegetables into the bag and seal it tightly.
  5. Place the bag in a baking dish and put it in an oven preheated to 190°C. Bake for about 60 minutes.
  6. 10 minutes before the end of baking, cut the bag open to let the chicken skin brown.

Serve the roasted meat with potatoes, rice, or chips. Enjoy your meal!
