If you notice your dishes losing their shine and looking unsightly, it might be a sign of limescale accumulating at the bottom. Fortunately, there is a solution. Below, we present the simplest way to descale a dishwasher.
The dishwasher requires special care. To function efficiently, always ensure you have the right amount of salt and rinse aid. Salt helps soften the water, and rinse aid ensures that the dishes shine beautifully. Cleaning tablets alone might not be enough to maintain the interior in perfect condition.
How to descale a dishwasher?
The filter and the bottom of the dishwasher are areas that require regular cleaning to ensure the appliance functions optimally. How should you go about it? First, empty the dishwasher and remove the filter. Wash it thoroughly with a sponge, then soak it in a solution of warm water mixed with baking soda and citric acid. Wait 10 minutes, then place the filter back in its position.
Once the filter is back in place, sprinkle the bottom of the dishwasher with 7 tablespoons of baking soda and 4 tablespoons of citric acid. If you'd like a pleasant aroma to emanate from the interior, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Finally, run a cycle at the highest temperature. Repeat this cleaning process once a month to help keep the dishwasher in top condition.
