Drones over Moscow: A night of tensions and unanswered questions
During the night from Monday to Tuesday, drones appeared over Moscow. The mayor of the Russian capital reported that a "mass attack" occurred. Ukrainians have not yet responded to these reports.
Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
Early in the morning on March 11, Ukrainian drones carried out a massive attack on Moscow, according to the city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin. According to his information, approximately 69 drones were shot down on the city's approach from around 9:30 PM to 12:00 AM Eastern Time.
As a result of falling debris in the Moscow region, one person died—a security guard of the Miratorg distribution centre in Domodedovo. At the time of the drone strike, he was next to a car in the parking lot, reported the portal Shot. An intense fire completely consumed 20 vehicles. Three people were injured in the cities of Vidnoye and Domodedovo, informed the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov.
Kyiv has not yet commented on this matter.
Vorobyov said emergency services received reports about drones from Kolomna, Zaraysk, Serebryanye Prudy, Serpukhov, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Lukhovitsy, Bronnitsy, Domodedovo, the Leninsky district, Podolsk, Elektrostal, and Kotelniki.
The Moscow railway reported that falling drone debris caused minor damage to the infrastructure at Domodedovo station. No one was injured. Repair teams are working on-site, and train movement towards Moscow has been delayed. Due to the drone attack, the "Carpet" plan, which involves restrictions in air traffic, was implemented at Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports.
The previous most significant Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow took place on November 10 last year. At that time, 32 drones were destroyed on approaches to the capital.

On Tuesday, talks between representatives of the USA and Ukraine will take place in Saudi Arabia. It will be the first delegation meeting from both countries since the dispute between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
"We hope for practical outcomes. Ukraine's position in these talks will be fully constructive", assured Zelensky in a post on the platform X.
The Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia consists of key representatives, including the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybihy, and the Minister of Defence, Rustem Umerov.
Although present in Saudi Arabia, President Zelensky will not participate in the negotiations themselves.
