Jamie Oliver reveals his simple secret for perfect brownies
The brownie is one of the most popular chocolate cakes worldwide, known for its moist and dense texture. It is a classic American dessert that differs from traditional bakes like sponge cake. With its crunchy, slightly cracked top and intensely chocolatey center, it has captured the hearts of sweet lovers everywhere. Jamie Oliver has disclosed a simple trick for perfect brownies.
The brownie is a versatile cake that can be customized to suit personal preferences. The essential ingredients are chocolate and butter, which contribute to its moisture and intense flavour. You can enhance it with various additions, such as nuts, fruits, or even a cheesecake filling. To cut calories, try incorporating grated vegetables like zucchini; this reduces fat content while keeping the dessert delicious. Unfortunately, achieving the perfect brownie at home doesn't always guarantee success. Jamie Oliver has shared a straightforward trick that ensures "amazing" brownies every time.
Jamie Oliver highlights that the secret to success lies not only in the quality of the ingredients but also in how they are prepared.
- Who doesn’t love a beautiful, delicious chocolate brownie? This one is simply made with quality ingredients; no flavouring, no nuts, no fruit – just chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate - writes Jamie on his website.
Jamie Oliver's brownie
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of good-quality dark chocolate (70%),
- 250 grams of unsalted butter,
- 4 large free-range eggs,
- 250 grams of golden caster sugar,
- 2 heaped tablespoons of all-purpose flour,
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- 2 heaped tablespoons of high-quality cocoa powder.
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Tear off a large piece of parchment paper, crumple it under cold water, and then lay it out to line a baking pan measuring 20 cm by 20 cm.
- Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl, chop the butter, and add a pinch of sea salt. Melt over a pan of gently simmering water, stirring regularly, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Break the eggs into a large bowl, add the sugar, and whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and then the cocoa. Beat to combine, then fold into the melted chocolate mixture.
- Spoon the mixture into the lined tray and spread out evenly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cake is crispy on the outside but still slightly wobbly in the center.
- Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes so the crust becomes crispy while the center remains moist. Slice and serve warm. Brownies are delicious with vanilla ice cream, crushed hazelnuts, and caramel popcorn.
