Amid intense international diplomacy, marking the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer have decided to coordinate their efforts to influence Donald Trump's plans for ending the war in Ukraine. "The Times" suggests that global security is at a "decisive moment."

They want to influence Trump

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in the United States on Monday, February 23rd, to meet with the US President, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to visit the White House on Thursday, February 27th.

Both leaders intend to convince Trump not to continue bilateral negotiations with Russia in exchange for European commitments regarding Ukraine's future security.

Diplomatic sources emphasise that Macron and Starmer will attempt to influence Trump's decisions, which could be crucial for Ukraine's future and regional stability. Their efforts aim to ensure that European commitments to Ukraine are respected.

Macron and Starmer's coordination aims to reinforce the European stance on potential changes in US policy toward Russia. Both leaders recognise the gravity of the situation and the necessity for joint action on the international stage.
