We often boil hard-boiled eggs several times a week. We need them not only for sandwiches but also for salads or spreads. Not a fan of peeling eggs? This trick will make it easier for you.

Cooking one egg for breakfast isn't a problem. It’s more challenging, however, when we need more eggs, for example, when preparing a spread or salad. Not everyone enjoys the tedious peeling process, and sometimes we’re simply in a hurry. That’s when a handy trick I learnt from my cousin comes in useful.

How to peel an egg perfectly

Eggs that aren't appropriately peeled, with torn pieces of egg white and occasionally detached... It's well-known that the fresher they are, the harder it is to remove the shell perfectly, as the membrane between the egg white and the shell adheres more strongly. Nevertheless, there is a method that makes this task much simpler. Just place the eggs in a jar and shake them briskly. This is precisely what my cousin does. How does it work?

You need to shake the jar

With this trick, putting the cooled eggs into a jar, adding cold water, closing the container, and shaking it energetically is essential. You need to do it in such a way that the shell cracks; then the water will seep under it and help separate the individual layers efficiently.

Thanks to this, the eggs will be ready in just a few seconds, and your hands will remain clean. It's worth noting that this trick is based on a method our grandmothers have been using for years. After boiling, they would cover the eggs with cold water, even in the same pot, allowing them to cool down and making them easier to peel.

Eggs not only for breakfast

Hard-boiled or soft-boiled? These methods of preparing eggs are definitely the most popular. Eggs are an excellent choice for both breakfast and supper. They are a true treasure trove of nutrients, rich in high-quality protein and containing all essential amino acids.

The yolk is a source of healthy fats and vitamins such as A, D, E, and K. It also contains antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which support eye health. Furthermore, choline improves brain function and the nervous system, while minerals such as iron, zinc, and selenium support skin health and the immune system.
