A man attempted self-immolation at Red Square in Moscow, a few metres from Lenin's Mausoleum, reports the channel Mash. He was saved in time. The area where the incident occurred was cordoned off.

The incident happened before 1 PM Greenwich Time. The man, who was walking around Red Square, suddenly took out a flammable liquid, poured it over himself, and set himself on fire. The immediate reaction of the police ensured that the man was quickly extinguished.

"Thanks to this, the man was unharmed. He is currently being questioned," adds Mash.
