After a traffic accident in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia, one of the participants went into a rage and stabbed three other people, including a woman travelling with him and a police officer, reported the "Sydney Morning Herald" on Sunday.

The police reported a total of four injured people, one of whom was detained while running away from the scene of the accident. During the arrest, he injured a police officer. The officers used a Taser against him.

According to eyewitness accounts cited by Australian media, the man from one of the vehicles involved in the collision attacked the woman travelling with him with a box cutter, and later another person and a police officer.

According to the newspaper "The Australian," a woman approximately 40 years old sustained multiple injuries and is in critical condition, while the condition of the two injured men is stable. The newspaper did not provide details on the condition of the fourth injured person.

Australia: More knife attacks

Reuters reminds us that in Sydney, Australia's largest city, there have been a series of knife attacks this year, prompting the New South Wales government to tighten regulations concerning these tools.

In April, six people were killed, and twelve were injured in a knife attack at a shopping centre in the Bondi area on Sydney's eastern suburbs.
