Tom Daley, the British Olympic gold medallist, decided to test the durability of the beds in the Olympic Village. The athlete posted a video on Instagram showing that the so-called "anti-sex" beds are highly durable.

Tom Daley, representing Great Britain in 10-metre platform diving, decided to assess the sturdiness of the beds in the Olympic Village. When not preparing for his fifth appearance in the Olympics with his new synchronised diving partner, Noah Williams, Daley engages in "scientific experiments" for the public good, as he puts it.

Review of the beds in the Olympic Village

Daley's latest experiment was a detailed review of the beds in the Olympic Village. This stemmed from an article in "The Independent," which reported that "anti-sex" beds were installed at this year's games to discourage athletes from engaging in intimate relationships.

Daley decided to personally check how durable these beds are. On his Instagram, he showed what the frames of these beds look like, which seem quite sturdy. The athlete explains that the beds are made of cardboard. He shows the box-like structure of the frame, on which the mattress and topper are placed, followed by the bedding prepared for the 2024 Games.

As part of his experiment, Daley jumps on a cardboard bed, which does not bend at all, to show how much movement it can withstand. Then he gets down on all fours, concluding that the beds are quite sturdy.
