Trump visit to Russia dismissed amid Victory Day reports
Dmitry Peskov has commented on media reports suggesting that Donald Trump is to participate in the Victory Day celebrations, traditionally held on 9 May in Moscow. The Kremlin spokesman stated that the visit of the US President on that day is not planned. Earlier, Trump himself denied these reports.
- The arrival of US President Donald Trump to Russia for the Victory Day celebrations on 9 May has not been planned - said Peskov. The RBK portal quotes his words.
Meanwhile, the French weekly "Le Point", citing its sources, reported on Friday that Donald Trump will meet Vladimir Putin on 9 May. This is a symbolic date for Russia, as Moscow celebrates Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War on that day.
"What victory will Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump celebrate on 9 May 2025? Probably not the one achieved by the Allies in 1945, but rather their own joint victory in peace negotiations regarding Ukraine, which, according to Gen. Kellogg's plan, are to be concluded on... 9 May" - reads the weekly.

Trump in Moscow? Washington denies
As highlighted in the commentary, if this plan succeeds, it will mean a triumph for Putin, who, in justifying the assault on Ukraine, compared Ukrainians to Nazis.
A few hours later, Donald Trump was asked about the report by the French weekly. The response was short and decisive: "No, no, I am not planning to."
