CNN, citing four sources, reports that Tim Walz, currently the governor of Minnesota, is set to be Kamala Harris's candidate for Vice President of the United States.

According to CNN, Kamala Harris has chosen her vice-presidential candidate; it is to be Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, citing four individuals involved in the process.

In 2006, Tim Walz was elected to the House of Representatives, where he served for 12 years. In 2018, he became the governor of Minnesota.

According to Reuters, Walz has implemented progressive policies in Minnesota, including providing free meals in schools, reducing taxes for the middle class, and extending paid leave for employees.

The key to victory?

Democrats hope that the 60-year-old will help the party gain votes in more conservative regions, including among white voters. During his career, Walz has defended farmers' interests and the right to bear arms.

Walz is popular in small towns. Democrats believe he could tip the balance in their favour in swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan.

Recently, Walz made headlines when he called Donald Trump "weird," which Democrats picked up on and used in their campaign.

The presidential elections in the USA will take place on 5th November.
