Belgium, as the first country in the European Union, has introduced a ban on the sale of disposable e-cigarettes, effective January 1st. Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke emphasized that these products are "extremely harmful" both to society and the environment.

Minister Vandenbroucke noted that disposable e-cigarettes are a new product intended to attract more consumers.

- E-cigarettes often contain nicotine. Nicotine makes you addicted to nicotine. Nicotine is bad for your health - he said, quoted by "The Guardian".

Will Belgium's decision affect other countries?

Vandenbroucke pointed out the presence of dangerous chemical waste in these inexpensive and widely available products. He also emphasized that Belgium plays a "pioneering role in Europe to weaken the tobacco lobby."

Belgium's decision may influence other European Union countries considering similar measures to protect public health and the environment.
