On Friday, Dmytro Kuleba compared the situation in Georgia to the events in Ukraine in 2013. He noted that the leader of Georgia's ruling party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, was acting in a manner similar to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych at that time.

"The Georgian government has disguised its concessions to Russia as attempts to prevent an invasion," Kuleba wrote on social media.

According to Kuleba, Georgia currently resembles the circumstances in Ukraine 11 years ago, during the beginning of the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity. Kuleba recalled how in 2013, Yanukovych announced that he would not sign an association agreement with the European Union, which triggered mass protests. Ukrainians responded by rising to defend their dignity, thereby altering the course of history.

Appeal to protesters in Tbilisi

Kuleba issued an appeal to the protesters, emphasizing that their struggle is more than merely a choice between a pro-European and a pro-Russian political direction.

"It’s about the fundamental right to a free life," Kuleba stated. Protests erupted on Thursday evening, including in Tbilisi, reacting to the government's decision to suspend talks on Georgia's EU membership until 2028, Eastern Time.

According to Kuleba, the advantages of the struggle are clear; it's a decision between freedom and losing prosperity to Russian influence. The former Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs encouraged Georgians by saying, "You are a proud nation. Fight and win. Do not let them steal your future."
