Many of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

Anton Herashchenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, published a recording featuring a resident of Sudzha in the Kursk region of Russia on platform X. In the video, the man talks about the situation on-site.

- Ukraine invaded Russia through our city. At 3:11 AM, the shelling started - the man claims. - We jumped into the car in what we were wearing, drove away, and then had to return under the shelling to get our documents - you can hear his narration. Shortly afterwards, he says:

- The government says everything is smooth and good, nothing's wrong - he says, adding that it is not true. Where is our glorious army? No air defence, nothing. - he adds.

The government claims that everything is perfectly fine, nothing bad is happening. - Where is our magnificent army? There is no air defence. At least there are helicopters in Kursk. We have [nothing] - he adds.

As he also reported, Chechen troops were supposed to be on the scene before. - Chechen Akhmat troops were probably the first who left - he adds.

Forced evacuation in the Sumy region

On Wednesday, the authorities of the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine announced the forced evacuation of about six thousand people from the area of the city of Sumy, which borders the Kursk region in Russia that has been under attack by Ukrainian forces for two days.

The authorities in Kyiv are not commenting in any way on reports of the attack on the Kursk region. On Tuesday, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported that the attack began at 3 AM and that the adversary struck with up to 300 soldiers, supported by armoured vehicles.

Bloggers associated with the Ministry of Defence in Moscow later reported that up to 400 Ukrainian soldiers had entered the region, and about 2,000 are near the border.

According to online portals, the Ukrainians occupied at least three localities in the Kursk region. Russian sources stated that one of the targets of the attacks is the town of Sudzha. There is a gas measurement station there, through which Russian gas is sent via Ukrainian pipelines, mainly to Slovakia.
