Kamala Harris narrowly leads Trump in latest nationwide survey

In a new nationwide survey, Vice President Kamala Harris holds a slight lead over former President Donald Trump. She leads 50 to 46 percent among registered voters and 52 to 46 percent in the likely voter category.
Based on an ABC News/Ipsos poll published on Sunday, analysts noted that the results are similar and statistically unchanged compared to the August poll. Before the Democratic Convention, Harris had 49 percent support among registered voters, while Trump had 45 percent.
According to the latest survey, Harris leads among women 54 to 41 percent, while Trump prevails among men 51 to 46 percent. Before the convention, Harris had a 6-point lead among women.
Trump will solve border problems, Harris will protect democracy
The Democrats also performed better in terms of the election campaign. Fifty-six percent of Americans believed she did an excellent or good job, and about 41 percent expressed a similar opinion about the former Republican president.
Trump, in turn, surpasses Harris in terms of trust concerning critical issues, including the economy and inflation. In each of these categories, he leads by eight points. More respondents also trust him more to resolve the situation at the US-Mexico border.
Meanwhile, the vice president is seen as more trustworthy than Trump in protecting American democracy and Supreme Court nominations.
The ABC News/Ipsos poll was conducted between 23rd and 27th August. It included 2,496 people.
The presidential election in the United States will take place on November 5th. Next week, on September 10th, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will face each other in a pre-election debate on ABC News.
