The President plans to offer them financial assistance and airline tickets to return to their countries of origin. The "self-deport" program proposes that "good" individuals may later return legally to the U.S. This idea has prompted a flurry of comments—largely from experts—but for American comedians, it has become fodder for jokes about the government. Jimmy Kimmel addressed this topic on his evening show.

During his monologue, Jimmy Kimmel discussed Donald Trump's new immigration plan, which proposes that undocumented immigrants will receive money and a plane ticket to leave the USA. Kimmel noted that one immigrant in particular—Melania Trump—might find this offer enticing. However, it is, of course, inaccurate to label the First Lady from Slovenia as an "illegal immigrant." Kimmel also mentioned Trump's relationships with women from overseas; Ivana Trump, for example, was from the Czech Republic.

Kimmel joked that Trump typically offers money and plane tickets to immigrants when he's getting divorced. "Melania’s like: ‘Am I eligible for this?’" Kimmel added, alluding to the potential perks for Melania.
